Finishing the year with high fives and compliments is truly satisfying, especially when it comes from a bunch of talented young rugby players.
We’re great supporters of the Tauhara College 1st IV rugby team and are really proud of their second place finish this year. Yes, we give them practical and financial assistance to help with training and to get the team through the season, but it’s the boys’ skill, together with their coaches, families and supporters’ commitment that helps makes the grade.
Next July they’ve set their sights on touring South Africa for two weeks. To help fundraise, on 21 January, the team is holding a fishing tournament. The Taupō business community is really behind it and we’re thrilled to provide $1000 for the major prize – not for the best or biggest trout caught, but for an average weight, which means that everyone is in to win.
